Good Morning America

This morning Ush performed on Good Morning America: Another great performance! He didn't lip synch... he sang it, like he should :) He's really putting in his rounds for his new CD!!! Can't wait for an Usher Tour!!! Maybe this summer?!

Did you hear?! Despite 'Hear I Stand' being illegally downloaded over 1 million times, Ush still sold around 146,000 copies on his 1st day, and is set to be #1 on the Billboard for the week! Support Usher and BUY the album!

Rihanna's in "Disturbia" ?!

Rihanna has a new track titled "Disturbia". It has a great Euro beat... maybe for her new release coming in a month, or so. Seems to be her new direction: European Dance. Good lyrics and very catchy. Easy to bob your head to and dance around... maybe even blast in your car on a long ride, or road trip. We give this track an 8.7/10.0! Check it outtt.

"Disturbia"

Usher does BET

If you didn't catch it... Usher performed on BET last Wednesday to promote his new album. He had a 30 minute show/set... He performed 3 new songs, and one classic. Awesome performances: Great vocals, nice movement and interaction with audience, superb choregraphy, nice band too! Deff. showing that he still is 'Mr. Entertainer'.

Usher 'Here I Stand' Album Review

Alright guys! The time has come. The review of Ush's new album 'Here I Stand'. Let us know what you think about our review!!!
Brendon's Review:
1. The album begins with the Intro, floating around blog sites named "Forever Young". This song is a nice beginning to the album... sounds like Ush may have gotten a bit of inspiration from being on Broadway, though.
2. Next, is the smash "Love in This Club" ft Young Jeezy. We all, by now, know that Polow produced this electric track. It's a great beginning to a highly anticipated album. His confident demeanor is shown as he sings "Got some friends rollin' with you, thats cool. You can leave 'em with my homies, let them know that I got you..."
3. "This Ain't Sex" follows the club scene... The beat is kinda 'back-in-the-day' like, MichaelJacksony. Ush explains to his girl that what they're doing isn't "Sex", its "...Making moments, that will outlast the world." This would be a great song to see in concert; You can actually catch him performing this on SNL and Radio City 1 Big Weekend.
4. "Trading Places" is both creative and inventive. Usher sings in the song "...This is how it feels when you do it like me, we're Trading Places. Gon Get it.." In this song, he takes you through day-to-day happenings of a boyfriend and girlfriend/wife & husband. Only, Ush reverses all the roles. The guy makes the bed and gets picked up by the girl... the girl is the one pushing for the 'deed'. I don't know if anyone else could do this song.
5. "Moving Mountains", as it says on the album cover, is epic. This song gives me chills whenever I listen to it. One of the best songs on the cd: Lyrically, Production-wise, Vocally, and Subject-matter. Unbelieveable deliverance from Ush and his team. Makes this song sound so true. It's going to be an anthem for couples in hard times.
6. Next up is the Will.I.Am produced track "What's Ya Name". (Also, features Will.I.Am)The perfect amount of 'young-savvy' Usher needed on his album. Ush knew he could'nt go all "ChrisBrowny" on everybody, and have extremely Poppy hits. He knows his age and maturity. He's grown. Fun beat, Electric mood, and catchy-as-hell lyrics!
7. "Prayer for You"[Interlude]... This interlude is very touching. He begins with his baby boy laughing and crying a bit. He says jokingly "I sound that bad?!" haha. He dedicates this to his son & makes this a promise to his son that he'll always be there.
8. "Something Special" may be one of the most different types of songs on the album. There is guitar and drums in the background. When listening to this album, Ryan had said "Sounds like a Robin Thicke track"... I don't know if I can sum it up any better. Great, Interesting song. If you like Robin Thicke, you'll like this one. Not the strongest on the album, but definitley worth listening too.
9. "Love You Gently" is possibly the best R&B song in the past few years. One of the best in Ush's career. He sings "Let me love you gennnntlyyyy... Light as a feather, hard as a rock..." His lyrics are some of the best on the album. In the Billboard interview he says this song is the 'Ultimate baby making song'. Hes right... Lovers will be jammin' to this track for years & years & years.
10. "Best Thing" is featuring Jay Z. Overall, this track is the weakest song on the album. The beat is too normal, too indifferent. Usher delivers vocally, but with the beat... it's not captivating, Jay-Z has a couple good lines, but it is really just another RnB star featuring a Rap artist. Worth listening to, though. We would have rather seen "Play Me" or "Echo" or "Just Like Me" on the album, than this track.
11. "Before I Met You" is stellar. Lyrically, Usher shows that he is still stong and in the game. He is showing he's involved with his artistry. This song may be good competition for Chris Browns "I Wanna Be". Usher begins the song with "Just incase I never see your face again, Just incase the worst was meant to happen, Just incase tomorrow never comes... there is something you should know. I've given you every bit of the man I am..." He let's his girl know that she has made a huge difference in his life and that he's commited to her. He's hers, he'll "love [her] for life". One of my favs on the album!!!
12. "His Mistakes" seemed like it would be one of the best on the album, when it leaked. Yet, after hearing all the tracks and the album as a whole, it seems more like a filler. Superb lyrics and arrangement... but still not up to the par of most other tracks on the album.
13. "Appetite" is a fresh beat... great for the car. This is one of the up-tempo songs on the album. The chorus is seductive and pulls you in. You'll be singing this one after hearing it once.
14. "What's a Man to Do" is a great ballad asking, well... "Whats a man to do?!". It's about a man who feels for two women. He's confused and needs some help... he doesn't know what to do. We can picture Chris Brown, Dream, or Mario on a remix for this one. Kind of reminds me of Mario's "Do Right".
15. "Lifetime" is produced by Ush's own brother J-Lack. This track is a great song for you and your lady. Basically, Ush tells his girl that he'll be there for a lifetime, he'll love her for a lifetime, and hes been waiting a lifetime for the one. Easy-going beat sets off the tone for this relaxing track. This song reminds me of a few songs from the 'Confessions' album like "Truth Hurts", "Simple Things" and "That' What it's Made For".
16. "Love in This Club Pt. 2" featuring Beyonce & Lil' Wayne is up next. Cool remix, yet... I don't know if it should have had a place on the album. Lil' Wayne's verse sounds some-what out of place. If the beat was quicker, more up-tempo, it may sound right... Good remix, but maybe not for the album.
17. Ending the album is the deep track "Here I Stand". "Hear I Stand" is about showing that he is here to stay, he's here for his fans, his wife & family, and his friends. "No matter how far I go, No matter how long it takes, No one or nothing can change. Forever yours, here I stand." Very MarvinGaye-esque and LuthorVandross-esque. He takes us back to when RnB was soulfull and somewhat Jazzy. Gret way to wrap up the album.
(*18. If you have patience... about 2:02 minutes after "Here I Stand" ends, a hidden track "Will Work for Love" begins to play. This track is on the same track as Here I Stand (Track # 17). Awesome, awesome, awesome. This song is catchy, and worth the 2 minute wait to get to it. It's about a man who fell on hard times and needs a bit of help. He wants his girl but he needs some love and kindness. Now this is the true way to end a CD.)
In the end, the album leaves, me at least, very happy and excited. I'm glad to have waited the 4+ years for this album. It shows maturity abd growth. The album covers love, urges, grace, percerverance, life, and strength. Usher came out very strong with this album, so deff. go BUY IT and support him. Also check out UsherHereIStand.com for updates and everything Usher. Ryan and I give it a 9.5/10.0. He proves he's still on top... especially with his demeanor, swag, and vocal abilities. Usher's back... are you ready?!

Fundamental '03 "Wait a While"

Fundamental '03 has a new track out today! It's titled "Wait a While". Basically, the song is about not having to get down and dirty to show that they have love for their girl. Awesome song for the trio... it's nice to see another side of them, compared to their strong bass'd "Bye Bye" and "Confused". The track fetures, what seems like, guitars & drums. They also show great harmony together. We rate this song an 8.6/10.0.

New video: Usher - "Moving Mountains"

Usher's new video for "Moving Mountains" is out. The video is amazing!!! It is very artistic and shows a lot of emotion and power throughout the 5+ minute long story-like vid. Deff a positive video for Usher! It is a continuation of the "Love in this Club" video... beginning at the burned down club scene. A lot of special effects used in the video... as well as a green screen. Everything looks VERY realistic and very well-planned. Usher doesn't dance or do any choreography in this video. We think rightfully so... The vid should send a deep message; and it does. Deff. watch this video, youll be intrigued. His album 'Here I Stand' comes out officially Tuesday, May 27!!!

Be sure to check in on Tuesday and listen to our FULL review... breaking down each song.

Debut Album Alert!: Mic Little - "Put it in a Letter"

Mic Little is the future of R&B... hands down he is one of the most talented singers at the age of 14. However, recently it has come to my attention that Mic Little was dropped from the major recording label Def Jam. How? or Why? is beyond me... I don't understand why anyone would give up such a hot prospect. Mic Little, who released his expected 1st single "Put it in a Letter" featuring the lyrical master Ne-yo, had absolutely no push from Def jam which ultimately sums up why Mic Little was dropped from their label. Honestly, its a shame that such a new and upcoming artist such as Mic Little wasn't given the chance that he deserved.
However, it seems that Mic Little has released a debut album independently, which will be sold through digital downloading. The album is called "Put it in a Letter", which includes some amazing tracks such like "Put it in a Letter", "Don't Stop (I like It)", and the melodic ballad "Red Light, Green Light".
The album starts off with his 1st single "Put it in a letter", which features Ne-yo. The song is a great single choice, and lyrically wise fits his image/age. The next song on the album "Don't Stop(I Like it)" which was produced by Stargate, reveals a more risky side of Mic Little rather than his normal 14 year old sensual side. If your looking for an amazing ballad then make sure you check out track #3 on the album called "Red Light, Green Light", which shows his melodic/sensual side. "Who Need a Dime" is a different yet interesting song that shows Mic Little's creative lyrical side... (Who need a dime, I got a dollar... make me wanna pop my collar haha). #5 "Fresh & Fly" gives us a glimpse of Mic's gangsta side... but mainly just a filler on the album. #6 "Hey Girl" is a crazy club banga! It has a mesmerizing beat that will just make you wanna move. #7 "Let Me Get it", sort of has a southern type of snap beat with hard synths that make you just wanna lean and rock to it. #8 "Golden State" is kind of an obnoxious anthem about Cali and where he lives, but it doesn't take too much away from the album. #9 "Never Can Say Goodbye" is a remake of The Jackson 5's hit single, and Mic Little does an amazing job and sounds a lot like the great Michael Jackson himself. #10 "Make it out the Hood" is really just another one of those typical songs about getting out of the hood and going from the bottom to the top. #11 "My Song" is yet another slow jam ballad with a nice piano sound in the background... Mic will have the ladies eating out of his hand with this joint! #12 "Can I Be It" is a mid-tempo love song that is one of the best on the album. #13 "Hate On Us" is a slow jam that really reveals his image/age, which is good that he isn't trying to act older than he really is. #14 and the last song on the track "Before I Fail" is an interesting song with a weird intro... probaly a bad way to end the album... but overall an amazing album.

Kwiet Storm "Everybody"

The 4 member group Kwiet Storm has a new song titled "Everybody". The song is a hoppin' R&B song. It is very catchy and likeable. I could see this song all over BET and MTV this summer... with a hott video in Florida or somewhere tropical. The beat is dope... very One Chance/Pretty Ricky/Yung Joc. Overall, the song is a 8.3/10.0. Great song to introduce us to this upcoming R&B group. We can't wait to hear more from them!

Usher: 'Here I Stand' & Bonus Track

2 new bonus tracks from 'Here I Stand' have leaked onto the internet titled "Revolver" & "Forever Young". Neither Ryan or I(Brendon) have listened to these tracks... and won't until Tuesday, May 27. We will not be posting our review of Usher's album or bonus tracks until the 27th. We haven't even downloaded the album... or listened to any songs besides the 5 or so that we posted last week. This album is set to be one of the, if not the, album of the year... We're waiting until 5/27/08 to hear the album: We're actually going to purchase and support Usher. So, listen/download if you want.. but there will be no reviews or comments on any of the new material/album until next Tuesday.

Deff. check back in from time to time though, especially on Tuesday.

Chrishan "Changed"

Chrishan has a new song titled "Changed". This song was previewed about 2 weeks ago by R&B star Lloyd... except his version was titled "Life". We are wondering who is actually going to get the beat for their album... Especially with Lloyd being well-known and with his new album coming out soon, and Chrishan only debuting sometime soon... Will the song go to lloyd because of 'seniority'?

Overall, the song is great. We give it an 8.6/10.0. Chrishan uses his voice as an instrument and really excels. His voice has really matured since the last bit of music we've heard... a month or so ago. He really has "Changed"... He seems to be turning into an exciting new face in R&B! We'll see how he differentiates himself from the R&B games male stars. For example, we think he'll end up being compared to Lloyd, Trey Songz, J. Holiday, Casely and Chris Brown. He needs to find either a route, style, music-feel, or audience direction different than the forementioned artists.
We can't wait to see Chrishan mature more and begin his journey to stardom. Deff. check this trackout!!!

Update on Usher

Usher is set to perform on the season finale of Dancing with the Stars on May 20th. Usher's number will feature 3 of DWTS professional female ballroom dancers, including Karina Smirnoff.

He'll also be on Good Morning America on May 30th during their Free Concert Series... It airs from 7:00 am-9:00 am... Catch it! It's free!!!!!!

Usher is starting his rounds to promote the new album- May 27th!!!

Ne-Yo's Album Pushed Back

Ne-Yo's 'Year of the Gentleman' album wont be coming out in June... Its been pushed back to August 5th. Some say its because of the poor reception of the LP's first single "Closer"... which has only made it to #54, as the top position. Def Jam surely wants a single in the top 10 for the release. Both previous albums, "In My Own Words" and "Because of You" debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 charts. Hopefully Ne-Yo comes out with a smash hit this summer... He can't fall off... He has to compete with Usher's new album, 'Here I Stand', out May 27th, and Chris Brown's Re-release, 'Exclusive: The Forever Edition', out at the beginning of June.

In Ne-Yo's own words, "...We gotta make it work, ay yo, ay yo, ayyyy..."

Usher: Update + New Track

Usher performed this past weekend at Radio 1's Big Weekend... Link to video performance at bottom. Usher did his thing... dancing and singing his heart out. He also performed two new tracks, yet to be heard by the public... "Here I Stand" and "What's Ya Name"... both sound amazing!!! "Here I Stand" is a slow ballad assuring his girl he'll always be there, no matter what. "What's Ya Name" is clubby & fun... could totally feature T-Pain on a remix. The song is suppose to feature Will.I.Am. of the Black Eyed Peas. In the concert, he perfoms about 1 minute or so of "What's Ya Name." When we get the songs, they'll be up for posting.

Along with his new music, another new track titled "Play Me" was leaked. We had spoke about this song in a previous post. It's a great song with a real electric-house-dance feel. Catchy, too.

We're really feeling Usher and his new music. He's had spectacular beats and production so far... and creative lyrics, direction, and theme. We only hope he gets a little bit more publicity and promotion here in the USA. With the album dropping in a little more than 2 weeks, May 27th, Ush needs to get on some talk shows and tv stations... You know he will... He's Usher. Duhhh.
